  2. Who is the enquirer please?
This is speculation without paying a visit to the site and confirming the layout...but I believe it is likely to be the remnants of the battery just below the Rose of Australia Gully commonly called the Warden Battery (A public battery). The modern looking tank behind the blokes is probably the 1930s operation but some of the earlier (1890s) percolation tanks although in a poor state can still be found. However I will check further.

  3. Ok after a 1.5 kilometer trek through wild animal, tall timber and weed infested rockland.. in a 100k driving wind I took a few shots but because of regrowth and debris in this poor dilapidated historic site was not able to get the right aspect as the shot on our blog.
However not to be outdone I trespassed onto private property and climbed a very steep hill to confirm absolutely and without contraception that I now have no idea if i am right or wrong, so there!

  4. You must have taken the long way to get there. No more than 500 metres from your place I reckon. Topography doesn't seem quite right but difficult to tell will the trees now covering the hill on the northern side of the road. Maybe it is the battery that was at the other end of town. Do you know where that was??
